Coenzyme Q10, ubiquinone, is naturally produced by the body. Young skin has ample amounts of CoQ10, and so looks healthy, firm and supple. Unfortunately, CoQ10 levels show a gradual decline with aging. Sun exposure is another major factor, contributing to CoQ10 depletion, thus CoQ10 is of great benefit to the look of sun-kissed skin.
